Adopt an Iraqi Village is a voluntary, grassroots
project that provides building supplies, clothes and basic
household materials for impoverished families
living in Iraq. Eventually the project included deliveries in Afghanistan also.
The project was started by the volunteer
efforts of soldiers in the 133rd Engineer Battalion (Maine National
Guard), and efforts continued with the involvement of other military and civilian individuals who wanted to help Iraqis and Afghans living in poverty.
Please visit the Activities pages to read about the deliveries and related projects undertaken in Iraq and Afghanistan. Photos accompany many of the descriptions. Click here to go to the Activities pages.
Thank you for visiting.
